A recent Mission-related event supporting Catholic Social Teaching:
Last month, Dr. Fernando Nascimento, Ph.D., shared a special presentation on Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. We discussed how faith and human dignity intersect with technology, especially AI. It was an inspiring afternoon shared by residents and their family members, volunteers, board members, and the Good Shepherd sisters. Initiated by a resident’s request, this presentation focused on the challenges facing society and offered the Church’s teaching related to developments in technology today. Prof. Nascimento emphasized the Pope’s call to reflect on the ways we promote the dignity of each person and the common good in our encounters, relationships and the wider community.
